Angelina Jolie: I'm Taking Off Completely For Children

Angelina Jolie says she is “taking off completely” from her acting career so she can spend more time with her children. She and her partner Brad Pitt have four children and are expecting twins this summer. Jolie has spoken out about her life as a working mom. The 32-year-old says she feels “very lucky” because her job allows her to spend a lot of time with her family. “I’m very, very lucky. A lot of mothers don’t have a job where they can just work a few months in a year and then come out for two says for a press conference,” Jolie says. “My schedule is very small in comparison when it comes to hours so I can afford to spend as much time as possible with my children.”

She also reveals that she and Pitt have nannies but either she or Pitt are at home at all times. “When I’m working, Brad’s home with the children and vice versa. We do have nannies that help us, but nobody spends the night,” she said.
“We also spend a lot of time completely alone with out children. We’ve kind of found a balance. And this year I’m taking off completely for the family,” she added.

Jack Black spills the beans: Jolie expecting twins

Angelina Jolie is indeed expecting twins, and it was Jack Black who let the news slip with a "Brady Bunch" crack. Long rumored to have two children by Brad Pitt on the way, Jolie confirmed the news during a side-by-side "Today" show interview with Black, her "Kung Fu Panda" co-star. The two are in Cannes, France, promoting the animated film.

The twins will be the 5th and 6th children for Jolie and Pitt. She didn't volunteer the information until Black dropped the hint, joking that the couple will "have as many as (the) 'Brady Bunch' when you have these."
"It's confirmed?" followed "Today" interviewer Natalie Morales. "Yeah, yeah, we've confirmed that already," Jolie said. "Well, Jack's just confirmed it actually." "Is that true?", Black said jokingly. "Yeah, you did," Jolie replied. "Sorry," Black said.

Excerpts of the interview will air tonight on "Access Hollywood," with the full interview airing Thursday on NBC's "Today."

Celebrity Gossip Round-Up

Ugly Betty star America Ferrera is denying recent reports that she is engaged to her long-time beau, filmmaker Ryan Piers Williams. After the actress set off a media frenzy by wearing what looked to be an engagement ring on the set of the ABC hit, her rep refuted the claims. Instead, a source told the magazine, the ring could be part of a plot twist on the show. Sex and the City writer and director Michael Patrick King appears to be refuting Cynthia Nixon's recent "spoiler" that a character will die in the upcoming movie. "You don't know how many people came up to me when I was making the movie and said, 'So is somebody going to die?'" King told the New York Times. "Yup. Happy summer. Thanks for your $10. Enjoy your Diet Coke. Someone's going to die. Like that's what I'm going to do."

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and their four kids spent some time with U2 members The Edge and Bono on Sunday (May 4th) as they continued their stay on the French Riviera. According to E! Online, the celebrity couple and children Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh spent time with the guitarist and singer, both of whom have homes in the area, in separate visits. The family is staying at a Villa owned by Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen, who's also friends with The Edge. Pitt and Jolie are in France for the Cannes Film Festival and for Jolie to give birth to another family addition.
Ted Key, who created the Hazel comic strip that ended up a primetime TV show, has died at age 95, the Associated Press reports. Key died Saturday (May 3rd) at his home in the Philadelphia suburbs after a battle with cancer. Hazel, which revolved around a bossy maid, debuted in The Saturday Evening Post in 1943. It evolved into a TV series starring Shirley Booth in 1961 and ran for four years on NBC and one on NBC. Key also created the time-traveling dog and boy characters Mr. Peabody and Sherman for producer Jay Ward, who integrated them into the animated Rocky and His Friends show beginning in 1959.
